There has been a significant shift in focus and awareness of sexual harassment in the workplace. Over 100 public, high-profile sexual harassment accusations were made against celebrities, public figures, politicians and corporations. There has also been a shift in Americans’ views. In 1998, only 36% of Americans described sexual harassment as a “very serious problem” compared to 2017 where 70% of Americans describe sexual harassment as a “very serious problem”.
