Nonprofit organizations across the country that provide basic needs to communities need our help now more than ever. So, when this pandemic began, our charitable giving committee met virtually to discuss how we could best support the communities in which our agents and customers reside.
For many families, losing one paycheck makes the difference between shopping at a grocery store and going to a food pantry, which is why the Committee decided to donate over $10,000 to various Food Banks in our operating states.
“I have made lasting relationships with people from many different states due to the nature of our business at Millers,” said Jacqui Murphy, Quality Control Specialist. “Donating across our operating states was important to our committee, so we could support more than just our local community.”
As an insurance company, Millers Mutual helps when the unexpected occurs, working to put things back together and make our insured’s whole again, making these donations a natural fit.
“Donating to food banks that directly serve our agents and customers is a fulfilling realization of the Millers Mutual Charitable Giving mission,” said Courtney Harris, Claims Liability Leader at Millers Mutual. “Many people are experiencing unprecedented circumstances and are struggling to find one of the most basic elements of survival.”

We are hopeful that the donations made to community food banks will help ensure our neighbors get the resources they need most as we all try to recover from the impact of COVID-19.
