Millers Mutual is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Zickefoose to Vice President of Claims, effective September 1, 2024. This promotion comes as part of our ongoing commitment to leadership excellence and strategic growth. Zickefoose will succeed Tim Kirk, who will transition into the role of Vice President of Strategic Projects ahead of his retirement later this year.

Zickefoose brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role, having joined Millers Mutual with an impressive background in claims management. Prior to his tenure at Millers, he served as the Director of Claims at Harford Mutual, where he was responsible for overseeing the General Liability, Auto and Property claims operation. His leadership included implementing strategic and operational initiatives, managing and/or directing all aspects of budgeting, processes, procedures, staffing and CAT operations.  He also directly supervised managers and supervisors across various domains including property, auto, general liability, litigation, and quality assurance.

Before joining Harford Mutual, Zickefoose dedicated a significant portion of his career to Westfield Insurance, starting in 1994 as a Multi-Line Claims Adjuster. Over the years, he advanced through multiple leadership positions, including Multi-Lines Claims Manager, Property Claims Leader, and Complex Claims Unit Leader.

Zickefoose’s academic credentials are equally notable. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies. Further enhancing his leadership acumen, he also completed The Institutes UVA Darden Executive Leadership Program and holds the Associate in Claims (AIC) and Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA) designations.  Zickefoose is also a retired combat veteran, who served 23 years as an aviator in the United States Army.
